In the last 20 years we have witnessed a revolution in cardiovascular imaging, in part brought about by the introduction of new techniques such as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). This revolution has changed not only the manner in which we look at arteries but also the evaluation of arterial disease itself. Nevertheless, among the hundreds of radiology texts only a few are expressly devoted to cardiovascular MRI. The publication of a comprehensive text written by one of the leaders in the field is therefore an important contribution, as it should meet an immediate need.The aim of the book is to provide instruction in the current practice of cardiovascular MRI and in particular, as the author writes in her brief preface, “to combine advanced physical principles of cardiovascular MRI with practical tips and protocols for ensuring success in the clinical setting”.Vivian S. Lee has for the most part succeeded in her goal, and this work should serve as a valuable resource for all specialis .
